All these posts about the sophisticated british humor are starting to piss me off. It has a different style but there is nothing especially sophisticated about it so theres no need to be snobbish

And neither you nor I can or will ever afford more than half the cars they feature. That doesn't change the dynamics between Clarkson, Richard "teeth whitened" Hammond and James "Cpt Slow" May. The stunts they pull off are always awesome. They are bringing an Australian version out as well, but I also fear it will be rubbish. Not because of who is hosting the show (they will no doubt be amazing presenters in their own right), but because the format works so well but it would not take much to screw it.

I'll watch both the BBC and american version. Have an open mind people.

Tell that to that American narrator and style of music they put in to build suspense when there is none.

You're a fan of the Top Gear too, eh? Nice!

I read in one of Clarkson's books that his daughter refers to filming "Top Gear" as 'Daddy going to play with Uncle James and Uncle Richard.'Greatest. Job. Ever.Although I'd dread being their researcher. Example segment requirement: "Find me a lightning generator that'll allow us to fire bolts at the car with Hammond in it..."

He likes your jet fighters, swamp buggies, airboats and guns, but dislikes most of the rest of the country. Then again the man's a raging misanthrope at the best of times (and all the more a National Treasure for it...)

I'm sure that they already shoot in HD, just not distribute it in HD.

WOW! ITS SO COOL THAT THEY'RE...Oh wait, they're keeping the name, but getting rid of everything that made the show great (The hosts, the European perspective on automobiles, the interview with famous foreign actors who I've never heard of, etc.)Huh, no wonder television is starting to fall behind so quickly, they have no idea of what the audience wants.
