puddlegum.net — Access versus ownership is the real reason the CD is no longer relevant to consumers. While consumers are turning to digital downloads to listen to their music so they can upload tracks to their iPod, collectors continue to prefer vinyl as their format of choice.

Whilst i still love my LP collection, CDs or DVD (whatever format) are much more accessible than vinyl, and when in a digital file format, much more so.I used to purchase a lot of vinyl in the 80's, but would copy it straight to a TDK metal cassete tape, because LPs were so fragile to play everyday (and they wear out after repeated playings).
