Damn! Sorry, I thought I had it formatted correctly. Let's try this again:4) Swimming doesn't cause you're heart rate to elevate like it does when you run or bike. In fact, the heart doesn't have to work as hard when you are laying vs standing and this is the cause of the dizziness many people experience after getting out of the water. Not that it doesn't raise your heart rate but not nearly as much. Want proof? Swim with a heart rate monitor and compare it to your resting and running rates. 8) Machines are less safe than free weights because they limit the range of motion. Assuming you aren't trying to lift too much weight, free weights allow you a more natural range of motion. People run into problems with improper form or too much weight. 9) In all my time working out, including a half ironman, I've never had anything good come of burning sensations in my muscles. When you work out you want to exhaust your muscles, they feel kinda like jello, not create a burning sensation, warning that you are coming close to pulling the muscle. I started to listen to my body more and have been injury free since
I have to call them on the swimming 'myth'; whether or not the conclusion is true, the rationale Harr gives is pure nonsense. You might just as well say the opposite, that while running you encounter almost no drag resistance, while in swimming you have the enormous drag resistance of the water. When exercising, it doesn't matter to your muscles whether the resistance comes from gravity, drag, or elasticity.
Adding lean muscle mass will burn calories all the time, as well as the workout itself raising your metabolism for long after you have completed it, more-so than cardio does.
Do NOT stretch before a workout. Warm up before a workout and stretch after. If you stretch before a workout you can actually make yourself weaker during your workout. Stretching is for increasing overall flexibility... it won't provide any immediate gains for your workout, so there is no point to doing it pre-workout.
Why so negative, Joe? I already knew those too, but it frustrates me when I see people making those mistakes. I guess not everyone is as smart as you. Dugg for telling people the truth.
The one about not sweating is idiotic. Of course if two people are each on a crossrtainer and one is barely moving and not sweating and the other is going all out and sweating then the one who is sweating is burning more.9 is idiotic as noted above. The whole list is lame.
Perhaps this is this guys secret system."The Muscle Gain Truth No-Fail System". He did it without drugs or steroids, without endless hours in the gym, and months... And wants to teach YOU how to do the same...http://www.onyourpc.com

When you strength train you actually create tiny tears in the muscle and your muscle rebuilding is the soreness you feel.
