Kelvin was a genius. Even genii are never 100% correct.

Darwin was one of the world's great scientists, but he clearly didn't understand the endless stupidity of a large chunk of the human race.Still, far better we have people like him to advance scientific knowledge, else we'd still be living in the stone age and worshipping the sun.

And that makes him less British in what respect, exactly? Tim Berners-Lee developed the WWW in Switzerland and now lives/works in the US so are you claiming that as a US invention too? There's just too many genii around here, methinks.

Well, if Lee happened to be in the US at the time, as a naturalized citizen, like Bell was, when he did his work, then yes, otherwise I would say no.See, Bell ran away from his country, became a naturalized citizen of the US, lived here, and invented here. Thus he was an American inventor, inventing American inventions. Invention Invention Invention Invention. :-) Just needed a few more of thoseHe was born somewhere else, but so were alot of current Americans. And yes, that's what you are after you're naturalized.

This article is nothing but a mere celebration of taking statements out of context. For example, Darwin's comment:"I see no good reasons why the views given in this volume should shock the religious sensibilities of anyone."is valid because Darwin said nothing of human evolution in his book, only OBSERVABLE evidences that supported his hypothesis.Or Cochran's "this case is a loser": how do we know it wasn't talking about the defense's case?Hindsight is great an all, but we should really focus on the outrageous claims that were unfounded (and a great many of these WERE well founded), and unfortunately doing this would truncate the collection by about 75%. This is interesting, but lame and not too amusing.

I do agree with you. The reality is that, of all energy forms capable of meeting the world's expanding needs, nuclear power yields the least and most easily managed waste. The insoluble waste problem arises from fossil fuel consumption and not nuclear power.
