but honestly... what can the eye do about it?even if he wants all the goblins in the world to try to stop it... they can'ti guess the ringwraiths on dragons could try to stop the eagles... but there's so many eagles it wouldn't even matter
The author of this is clearly misunderstanding War of the Worlds. Tom Cruise's character was not supposed to be a "hero"; he was a guy trying to survive against an alien attack and humanity's panic.War of the Worlds is not a "hero" novel or film; it is about humanity's nature of panic and turning against each other when all hell breaks loose, and how ultimately the most insignificant feature of nature is more capable of defending itself than humanity is.Perhaps that misunderstanding was the reason many people disliked the film.

Well technically Wedge when flying through the interior of the Death Star was flying in a pretty straight line then too. So it could happen.

Does that mean TDK should have been called "The Dark Knight REALLY Needs A Lozenge"?

Isn't Darth Vader the obvious hero of Return of the Jedi?

This is an awesome list, though I don't agree with the Harry Potter one that much. Somebody mentioned Frodo, which is a good example.
