seriously we are not seeing any signs of a recession in Alberta Canada - wife and I work in a retail gift store in a remote tourist area - which surely would have been hit firstgood link though - I have a son in the states he is thinking of the medical field
If people can't (or won't) pay on their mortgages and credit cards because of economic downturns, and are trying to cut back or delay spending in other areas, then they might start considering even the check cashing places too much of a hassle. If they can manage to hold out a day or two on paying rent or buying groceries rather than pay the check processing fees or the payback rate. Credit reporting agencies will probably see a boost.
