Blame the people who created non-2D RPGs for not making music that was as good as the people who made music for the 2D RPGs :) In my opinion, it was the people who created those RPGs that really wanted their game to create a mood for the person playing, not just entertain them. They worked hard on creating a game that was just a work of art in all aspects. Granted there are plenty of non-2D RPGs that also have great music, but over the history, many 2D RPGs just had amazing soundtracks to complement amazing gameplay and stories.
I still like FFV better than FFVI. I don't think the FFVI ending theme was all that good, nor do I like the game as much as 3, 5, 7, 9, or 11 (which only sorta counts I guess). What is it that people love about this one so much.
I don't know guys...while I agree with many songs on the list, I would've at least mentioned "One Winged Angel" from FF 7. Granted, it was the first time the FF series used vocals, but damn, did that song really make you feel like it was life and death between you and Sephiroth -- that is until, you Omnislash and Knights of the Round the bejeezus out of him ;-)
hmmm, some are good, but Metal Gear's "Rika Muranaka - the best is yet to come" is a great song, I even got it in my ipod, I really thought It would make the top 10. Shame on them for missing that one.
Agree with most tunes, but far too much RPG/Adventure on it.Missing the ending song for Ninja Gaiden Shadow, which is by far the best tune out of the 8bit Gaiden series,
