ugo.com — Remember the simple times before the Internet when gamers had to rely on their friends and the occasional monthly mag to update them on strange cheats and Easter eggs? Those were the days, back when you could spend nights trying to unlock Shen Long or revive Aeris only to realize you'd been duped.

To the witter(s) of this article:Myth #13 (about blowing on the NES game cartridge) actually works. It is the only way to effectively remove the dust so that the game may operate correctly. It is true that it may actually damage the game by providing moisture, but there is an easy solution. For the record, I can only say this confidently based on my (and several of my friends) experience with this problem back in the day with cartridge games. Whenever a NES, SNES, or N64 game was not working properly, I would wrap the game with a cloth-like material (including my shirt when I was required to improvise) and then blow. This would prevent any moisture from damaging the game. Did anyone else do this?

damn, Mew behind the S.S. Anne. the hours I spent on that...Mew's code was already in the game since Nintendo had a convention that "loaded" Mew onto your gameboy, which really just unlocked him. So I'm sure that if you had gameshark you could unlock him, just like Missing No. (whose only move was Water Gun!)

Will everybody who corroded away their cartridge by blowing on it please stand up. I think I found the real urban legend.

And no SS Anne truck? This article was absolutely terrible. Most of them weren't even urban legends, just funny facts they lifted from Wikipedia like every article. "Hurr hurr ET sold badly!!"I am shocked there was no Doki Doki Panic = SMB2 BREAKING NEWS! page.

You've answered your own question. You can't simply open the chassis as this breaks the seal and voids your warranty. They can't tell that you wrapped it in a towel. What about this concept do you not understand?

Man, this brought back some memories.

I know its two days later and no one will read this, but here we go.Yes, blowing on the game did nothing. You are getting more a result simply from wiggling the cart and pulling it in and out to blow on it than the actual process of blowing on it. Do you really think that much dust collected in the hour it was since the last time you played the game? How come you had to blow on the game EVERY time you took the game out again?Yes the pins bend, and yes its from leaving the cart in the console for extended periods of time. When you push the game down, you're pushing against those pins.<a class="user" href="http://classicgaming.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Articles.Detail&amp;id=256">http://classicgaming.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Art ...</a>
