tuaw.com— Here is a list of 10 unlikely requests for the next version of Mac OS X that might not be worthy of a Stevenote, but they could bring smiles and sighs of satisfied relief to many a user.

Ejecting Idle Drives? Not feasible - and a pipe dreamLearn from the Start Menu? Ever heard of Spotlight, Quicksilver or LaunchBar? The Go menu is not for applications. The Apple Menu of yore isn't and shouldn't be the new Go menu.Screenshot process more obvious? What's wrong with going to help and typing screenshot?A pretty terrible article IMO.
OH MY D!CK FIX THE F**KING MOUSE , PLEASE!!!! , THE MOST ANNOYING THING ON A MAC , I DONT CARE IF THE ACCELERATION IS ON BY DEFAULT , JUST PUT A FREAKING ON/OFF BUTTON, HOW HARD COULD THAT BE!!!???
The mouse acceleration is so much better in MacOS X than in Windows, it's not even funny. It makes great sense to move the cursor further if you move the mouse faster, and move it precisely when you move the mouse slowly. This allows you to easily jump across the screen with a quick movement, while still being able to do precision graphic work if you move it slowly. The Windows algorithm actually makes the cursor skip pixels when you turn up the speed, making it impossible to do any graphic work, or it's just too slow, and you can't flick it across the screen. I'd say get used to it...
It's worse than useless, so I doubt Apple would even want to needlessly complicate their OS. You can get 3rd party software to change the cursor movement behavior if you really want. If anything, MS should add an option to have sensible mouse acceleration in Windows, then make it the default, then get rid of the other option...
You can actually change the 'poof' graphic to something more sharp. I had one that looked like the warp effect in Star Trek TNG, it was pretty snazzy. Looks like resexcellence.com is still down, so the main resource for replacement poofs is unavailable at the moment... Hopefully, that will be back up soon.
