positivesharing.com — The main reason IT people are unhappy at work is bad relations with management, often because geeks and managers have fundamentally different personalities, professional backgrounds and ambitions. Here's what people who oversee the geek workforce should avoid doing.

@erikt311Well, that type of behavior confuses and frightens me. I'm in favor of allowing workers to have fun on their own terms, so long as it doesn't involving making loud noises or touching me.@p9s50W5k4GUD2c6Maybe I should have been more clear. I was not threatening to attack Digg users with an axe, but rather people who believe that management's idea of fun in the workplace is actually fun, regardless of whether those people are Digg members or not. Granted, I WOULD like to execute many Digg members, but it is not Digg members "per se" who I was addressing with my previous comment. It's a subtle distinction.Going back to the initial comment again, I think it's important for managers to realize that geeks DO hate them. We are talking about people who qualify--statistically--as GENIUSES and typically have "abnormal" personalities. That's what a geek is. Geeks cannot tolerate incompetence. Geeks are not impressed by personality. If anything, "personality" offends geeks, if only because they can't understand it, and management types LOVE personality. Management epitomizes personality in all its ugly horror. Management needs to realize that the "personality gap" is unbreachable.

#9 is so true. You need proper tools to evaluate your employees which results in better results for both the parties. http://www.definiteinfo.com/software/workforce-management-software.html
