Honestly I am very impressed with Yahoo in the last 6 months. I use Google 80% now instead of 100%.

I like a lot of simple Yahoo! properties which are just well done - like Yahoo! Notepad. This is an app I would never sign up for on a website to use exclusively, and couldnt care less if it is 'web 2.0 ajax' enabled - it just needs to work and be part of a site I am already logged into anyway.I also use Yahoo! Shopping for a lot of oddball item comparative pricing, although I rarely transact through it.Yahoo! Yellow Pages and Groups are two other go-to sites in their categories.

"Yahoo's Instant Messenging product is one of the market leaders,"Really? Cuz i dont know too many people who actually use it ... unless they include statistics from the Windows Live Messenger ("WLM") connectivity. i would personally choose WLM to talk to Y!IM users than Yahoo's messenger itself(N)

There's some truth to what you're saying, but you're making a false assumption that the pool of quality employees out there is exactly the size of Google's workforce at any given time. That's clearly ridiculous. For every one hundred great people who apply at Google, I'm sure only a handful are hired simply because Google doesn't want to be doubling its workforce every year.

Agreed. ask.metafilter.com is what Yahoo Answers wishes it was.
