lifehacker.com — While the next iteration of the ubiquitous Microsoft desktop operating system, Windows 7, isn't a dramatic overhaul of its predecessor Windows Vista, it does fix several sore spots and add a few welcome features.

Actually it is. It's built right on Vista and the architectural changes that Vista brought. It's just cleaning up some things. Uses the same drivers and all the same apps work on it.I'm not saying that's a bad thing. For me Vista is fast and stable. Always has been. I also have a build of windows 7 and I don't it being any faster than my Vista install. But again, Vista is quite fast on my machine.

Because when the beta comes out, people get confused by reviews on which features have changed/new.Also, people start trying to find the beta on torrents without realising that it doesn't exist yet.

first and foremost, i trust no MS OS until i have actually tested it. They put hype into their oses all the time and people fall for it. Some people have said, "they seemed to have figured out what they are doing" and "this is looking better than vista." Here is the thing, they boasted about vista just the same and people were all into it and then it came out and it sucked. People are doing the same now. Except now, you will need more than 2gigs for windows to even run and there is so much bloatware that it isn't even funny. There are so many little added features that they have put in in addition to what vista already had. How do we know it is going to be better? We don't. The whole OS basically looks like Vista but with MORE bloatware, which is hard because vista has a ton of bloatware already.
