When the Global Warming fears evaporate like Y2K I'm going to quake in fear waiting to find out which will be the next hyped up hysteria you are going to fall for and attempt to take away my freedom to "save the Earth."
Well you're right I guess, he did mention AIDS. It's nice that it wasn't until after there was any media coverage (because rock hudson had just been diagnosed). Those first 6000 people who died due to lack of government funding or response for the CDC didn't really matter.
This is the most asinine post. 9. Universal Health Care.- If any american believes universal health care is the answer - GO LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE AND SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT.2. Pulling Troops out of Iraq.- You're f**king retarded.1. The Impeachment of George W. Bush.- Oh! Yep, RETARDED. Grow the f**k up.
In as many words, I agree with the point of this comment. USA was never a democracy, either under articles of confederation or the constitution. It was set up as a republic. It is the "Department of Education," or more aptly the ministry of truth that keeps telling us we live in a democracy. It sounds good; it makes people think that they are in charge, per se. However, we're not a democracy. It doesn't mean we don't get freedoms or liberty, it just changes the way we choose our government. One of the key issues, as mentioned, is the lack of the people's house, meant to reflect the lower house in historical republics. And, before everyone goes on and on about how "that certainly worked out well for Rome," research the parallels between the failures (professional politicians, military complex, empire, gradual dictatorship, etc). Republics work great when simple nuggets of wisdom are followed (see founding fathers, federalist papers, etc). The decline is when people decide they need to bow to "expert" rule and they get more government than they want or need. It's the ignorace part - if people actually thought and learned history (not the dates and names, but real history) they could learn from their mistakes and see that the error of their ways is just around the corner/rubicon.
A paranoid guy who would ban your guns (MadKennyP) favorited this story, and how typical that he would favorite a story that moans that we haven't totally repealed the constitution and formed mob rule "democracy." Hey folks, try reading the constitution some time, the word "democracy" is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND THERE BECAUSE THE FOUNDERS DESPISED DEMOCRACY FOR GOOD REASON! Try learning history. That being said, I support 9 out of 10 of the items on the list (except more blanket "social spending" which is always just a waste which supports a bunch of garbage).Bush SHOULD be impeached for destroying our liberties, and the war on americans possessing CERTAIN drugs SHOULD be ended (it's just been an excuse to explode the size and scope and intrusiveness of government)
Actually I only support 7 out of 10. The kyoto protocol pushes the nonsensical fantasy that humans are causing climate change (the earth's climate is ALWAYS changing, but these people didn't listen in grade school). One volcano puts out more "greenhouse gases" in one eruption than all of humanity in all of human history. Farm animals produce more "greenhouse gases" than we do. FACT. Also, foreign aid is unconstitutional and a stupid waste that has never yielded any benefit for the U.S. citizens who are forced to support it with their wasted tax $$
Suppose we hold a referendum right now, asking the people if they want free workable universal healthcare, do you think they would vote against it, if it could be provided?
