I think for men it is the conquest. Just like acquiring a home, a car, a Harley, a great job, etc. etc. They have an inate desire to conquer . The more things they possess or conquer the more successful they feel. It's not a personal thing, just need the ego boost.

Most of the time cheating has nothing to do with girls being the problem and a lot to do with a horny guy who gives into primal urges. Boosting his ego and the thrill and variety of sleeping with someone new is all it is.Boredom is another factor.
