They would be fine for little kids cause it honestly feels like holding a Fisher-Price toy. The joystick is just too small by any grown-up standards. Creative's players are MTP only as well.
Zen Touch and Zen Vision M support is pretty good in Amarok; worked for me out of the box and let me update my collection, upload it to the pc, and download stuff to the devices quite easily: more so than the supplied windows drivers and software.

As a music player, it has low audio quality, low memory space, and a high price. As an all in one gadget, it's great.
