Eating in public (outside) and talking on your phone on the train are also big no-no's in Japan. The eating in public is a bit irritating, though... When I buy a sandwich from a conbini, I'd like to be able to eat it outside... but it's taboo.
God, this site's popup message that darkens the whole rest of the page sucks. I was reading down the middle of the page and then had to scroll up to close the popup and bring back the light!
What if, at a nice restaurant, you secure your chopsticks using the upper lip so that you look like a walrus, then stand up and run around screaming the Japanese word for "help" and THEN sneeze? I wonder what the ruling is for that situation.
After reviewing some of the links, I can now agree that there is credible evidence to suggest dolphins may be the most intelligent non-human animal.I probably could have done without the personal attacks in your first response to me, but whatever.
I'm just not sure how you would not know that; it's very widely known, taught to children and all. I figured that anyone who presents a counter argument must either have an agenda or a mental deficiency.

Wait, so if the floor were dirty you would rather walk in it in your shoes, rather than the ones that are only used in the bathroom?

No, no it is not usual to wear shoes around the house. Maybe YOU do this but then you're the exception to everyone else in England.
