We use "SHIFT-Print Screen" in Wxp to grab screen shots of errors for our IT dept all the time......saved in paint & cropped if necessary.

Foxit allows has annotation tools(altho the free version adds certain evaluation marks when u save, but i'm willing to live with it)...thus making it a little more nifty than sumatra PDF.And wow..there was not even one single tool i hadn't heard of before.... maybe i'm spening too much time on lifehacker.com

Paint.NET is nice, too, but it seems to get sluggish when dealing with very large images.

There's a great windows shell replacement program called SharpE that comes with a brilliant screen grabber. It can be hotkey activated, has region selectors and can automatically create thumbnails and FTP both the thumbail and the original to any server you specify. On top of that when it's not being used actively to grab portions of the screen it doubles as a colour picker which shows RGB, HEX and TCOL information of whatever pixel is under the mouse. And on top of that Sharpe *definitely* qualifies as free software that nobody knows about but should.<a class="user" href="http://www.sharpe-shell.org&quot;&gt;http://www.sharpe-shell.org&lt;/a&gt;

Omg I could not live without Blender and IrfanView makes life so much easier as opposed to having to search all over for image file support. Great recommendations ;)
