childsplaycharity.org — The foul mouthed philanthropists over at Penny-Arcade created the Child's Play charity in order to get books, video games, toys, and movies for kids that are stuck in hospitals during the holiday season. As of today, they have raised $760,000 for this year, if they reach $800,000 they will have raised over two million. If you can't donate, Digg!

Support children in other countries. They need food, not video games.I understand boredom is bad, but it isn't terminal.

No one is trying to force you to donate. Hell, they aren't even trying to guilt trip you like some charities do.

It certainly isn't meant as an insult, I've been reading Penny-Arcade for years, I just liked the alliteration; though admittedly I'm not sure it is, since it doesn't start with the same letter, just the same sound.

I was just going for the alliteration laugh, looks like I missed my mark.

Happy Holidays, indeed! If you need a little incentive to give, cheapassgamer.com is having a fundraising raffle for Child's Play and are giving away a $1000 gift certificate to Play-Asia, as well as $100 cash and other gaming-related gifts. http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117126They've got a raffle going on over at Joystiq, too--but the prizes dont' look as good:http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/12/the-joystiq-childs-play-charity-raffle

I honestly don't know how people are seeing "foul-mouthed" as an insult. :-) Is it possible that people think philanthropist is a dirty word? ... for what it's worth I could tell it was a joke.

Each year since the charity started, i've chosen my favorite game I played throughout the year, and donated it to the closest hospital to my area... This year they have a hospital just down town :D ... Heavily supported digg :D

Well I'm pretty sure he was joking when he made that comment.Granted, it wasn't funny, but still.
