Is this coincidence, conspiracy, or a major Republican strategy using their power to control the major media events on a given day when a Democrat or a story related to a Democrat could move momentum in the favor of the Democrats during an election year. A big percentage of Terror Alerts seem to take place on a day or week when Democrats could receive a boost in momentum. When was the last time a Terror Alert happened when something good was happening for the Republicans? Please check out the Terror Alerts for 2004 and see for yourself. @vixierconOh yeah, and as for 2) there is a big difference between an out of context quote and a reading into what is meant or implied. "valid points" referred specifically to the Iraq war (the topic) and more generally to opposing views that might be held by Democrats but not the points I made in the paragraph that preceded it originally. I should have made that more clear. I mean, it should confound reason entirely that Ann Coulter can get on TV and call Darwinists radicals and members of a faith. (to clarify, I'm commenting on the TVnewsmedia not you.) This wasn't a comedy show either, she was serious. This is what I'm getting at when I say that people have lost touch with reality. People will go around repeating what she says as though it were something other than bulls**t spewed to sell stupid books and warp people's minds. And other right wing people get center stage on cable 'news' to spout whatever whim or opinion that crosses their mind as if it were fact. There is no substantial analog for the left. These fantasies get repeated by other people and become common knowledge to a lot of folks, but they are just fantasies of 'wikireality.'

I'd have to agree with you one-hundred percent. The past 4 yrs the current administration has taken advantage of general fear and patriotic sentiments to hammer a sort of "Bush logic" into the heads of of the public. Being antiwar is emboldening and empowering Islamic extremists? What about invading an Arab country and occupying it callously and indefinitely? An extremist ideology is behind terrorism. You can't destory that with military might. Every overly aggressive move by this dministration only strenghtens the terrorists by winning them followers.
