Please explain why you don't know where the hell a home depot is that's only 1.2miles away? Also, why on earth wouldn't you go to the closest one anyway? You obviously have no clue where you're going if you need a GPS so why do you need the street name and town.
Uhh mostly yes, but the new iPhones pick up interference in some cars, which occasionally causes the phone to see "North" incorrectly. A map most useful when you know where north is, but these are moot points because no safe driver would use this device while driving anyway. ; )

Since the kit comes with its own GPS antenna, shouldn't it work with older, original, EDGE (2.5G) iPhone as well? Or for that matter, iPod touch?

the iphone triangulates way faster than any GPS unit i have used. It's called Assisted GPS and they use the cellphone towers, wifi AP's and GPS to get your position: <a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assisted_GPS">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assisted_GPS</a>
