thinkprogress.org — The Department of Homeland Security has offered a new, unconvincing argument for why they can conduct border searches, and take travelers? laptops and other electronic devices without needing any reasonable suspicion or probable cause. The public needs to help Homeland Security understand why they?re wrong.

Because you would know the guards ahead of time, and they wouldn't try some form of 'defamation of character' suit?

@AsveticAsvetic Thoughtful response, but see supreme court trials : -US v. Montoya de Hernandez-US v. Villamonte-Marquez-US v. Johns(and a few more)In fact, the last one pretty much states that the police can follow you home from the airport, and seize/search your baggage/contents even after you have unpacked it WITHOUT A WARRANT!!! damn! While I believe that the (indefinite) seizure of private property is wrong, warrantless does seem to be the only practical way to operate a border.

nah man. I don't remember too much about it, i never wrote down the title of the videos we watched (we watched one per week). Sorry but it wasn't very relevant to me at the time... I can remember that it was old, probably 80's quality. There was a narrator... I believe a Princeton professor did the narration? I can't find the exact video, but I did find one similar. I donno how helpful it'll be...: http://www.charlierose.com/shows/1996/04/08/2/a-co ...Sorry buddy.
