downloadtube.com — Maybe the smallest desktop-based Linux distribution, which requires only 10 MB free space on an USB drive, CD or an internal hard disk drive, Tiny Core Linux could give you a new experience and maximum Internet speed with a customizable X desktop and by running entirely in RAM. The Tiny Core Linux distribution is powered by Linux 2.6 kernel.

The DRM infection alone in Windows is bigger than that.

200MB for hp printer drives? Last time I had to download them it was 300MB for the 'limited' version and 500MB for the full version.

Wow, that's so amazing, now I can have a barebone linux installation with no features I would want to use on a convenient CD.

Bah, old 'uns ... you think you have it bad, I'm from the future, you're lucky if you can fit an HP printer driver on my 6TB holographic thumb drive. You didn't know you were born!

"Incorrect. Loading Libraries, drivers, system files in fact DOES hinder performance even for just browsing the internet."You generally only need to load the drivers and core libraries once. That was a poor example of how an OS can slow network speeds. A piss poor networking stack on the other hand can cause mayhem.

The original question still stands... WHY? What's the purpose? Who does this cater to? It's useless as a PMP distro... it'll be no more useful than a floppy-sized distro for unfortunate people with old hardware... if the point is simply to make the smallest distro possible, you can get a lot smaller than 10mb... in my opinion the ability to customize is the only real interesting feature
