nytimes.com— Landing at Kennedy Airport from Hong Kong was, as I?ve argued before, like going from the Jetsons to the Flintstones.

Glad to hear it Spoon...I love Bill Maher and Keith Olbermann. I do respectfully disagree on Friedman though; he doesn't have every answer but he articulates pretty well. I don't read him regularly in the NY Times but have read several of his books.
you do not really own the land in Hong Kong, its more of a long term lease. Also their is a requirement that the buildings be rebuilt or a least refurbished on a regular basis. Because of these regulations this means their is a constant rebuilding in Hong Kong. Nothing will get really old before its rebuilt. The land that has been developed already is the only land allowed to developers to build on. Although sometimes companies find ways about getting more land to develop on. It is sad to see them have zero respect for historical landmarks in Hong Kong. They are even well on their way to filling in the Harbor, to gain more land for central.
Well thats great for them, but the place Im going has had new accommodation built and completed very recently, and yet they didnt think to put in internet access out of the box, let alone wireless coverage.

If only NYC had gotten those olympics... maybe coming back to NY wouldn't have been so bad.
