FTA:"Obama has had some real successes this fall. He did a masterful job of bringing together incredibly disparate positions to craft a strategy for Afghanistan. He put himself on the line and will probably come up with a reasonable health-care plan. He left Copenhagen with at least promises of cooperation from other world powers regarding climate change. But he is not getting credit that he deserves because he is being ill served by those around him who will not step up as needed and take the fall for him."If he takes the blame for thing that go wrong (after all, he is ultimately responsible for many things), then he's making a martyr of himself and his administration is failing him. If he doesn't take the blame, he's ducking out from responsibility and finger pointing.Which is it, then?Frankly, I prefer a man with the balls to stand up and take responsibility when there are failures. George Bush and his father were both cowards who blamed everyone and everything but would never admit their own extensive, numerous, consistent failures. As a result, they seemed spineless and shifty.Obama has taken the stand on many occasions to stand up and admit problems and to accept responsibility and (dare I say it?) accountability.Americans wanted more accountability in the White House. They got it. And just like everything else Obama has done, he absolutely cannot win because the critics are designed to diametrically oppose everything that he says or does so there will be another story, another editorial and another headline.He could find the cure for cancer and his critics would still moan, complain, piss and cry that he did it 15 years too late. So there's really nothing to see here. Another gripe from another critic who needs a topic to write about in her miserable weekly column. Stay tuned for next week's riveting column: "Does Obama Tie His Shoes too Tight for his own good & safety? It may be a direct threat to the very safety of this nation."
