@ pinoyboy82 As opposed to EVERYONE else who has ever used a cookie hidden in a jpg., a trojan virus, or any of at least a thousand other things that I can think of using to somehow gain an advantage over others using the net. If you don't want to end up checking everything you get from the internet with a security system, then get a f**king mac.[By clicking on this comment, you will be downloading Comdestroyer.exe]\laughs narcissisticly

"There is nothing useful about complaining about what your government is doing. Instead; adapt, improvise and overcome such obstacles so that you and those that browse your blogs are not one of the next victims. Perhaps even help develop or improve upon multiple methods of anonymous internet access."I agree. If a majority of people want to vote for a political force not dissimilar from the nazi-style faascists, there is NOTHING stopping that from happening.

Ensure that you are using backup power (UPS). They always cut the power during a raid. In addition to this, all of your data, no matter how legal or illegal it might be deemed at such time should be on encrypted virtual drives such as BestCrypt or TrueCrypt. You should have shortcut keys mapped to force a quick dismount and wipe of those containers. Also ensure that your pagefile/swapfile is encrypted. Nothing pertaining to you or your family should reside on the OS partition, no matter how sensitive or insensitive. This means you can also back up those encrypted contains for easy maintenance of backing up your family or sensitive data. For example, if you make each container 8GB, you can back them up to a DL DVD. With HD DVD's, you can have even bigger containers. Or, you can back up any size container to an equal size HD.Another thing you can do is ensure that your computer is in a place that is hard to get to, should some group of people decide to kick in your door. You, your family and your computer should all be in a safe room when in doubt. Doing this in conjunction with the above mentioned steps will give you plenty of time to wipe your data and start playing a family video game together. When they finally kick the door down, they will have interupted a game of monopoly or whatever. If that sounds too silly, then you could always dial 911 from your safe room and tell them some thugs dressed in black are breaking into your home and they all have guns.

US plans to 'fight the net' revealedBy Adam Brookes Friday, 27 January 2006http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4655196.stmIt seems to see the internet as being equivalent to an enemy weapons system."Strategy should be based on the premise that the Department [of Defense] will 'fight the net' as it would an enemy weapons system," it reads.

Could you please explain all of that in a way that *I* might understand it? :-D Pretend you are talking to someone that knows how to push the button and the internet turns on.

"For all the partisans, do you really think this would be any different under the Democrats who at least are open about wanting bigger government and more government control over our lives?"Yes. We were attacked by terrorists in 1994 at the World Trade Center, in Oklahoma City later, and a millenium strike at LAX (stopped by good police work). The Democrats did not shut down democracy in response, nor did they pile drive fear into the population at every single presidential appearance. The Democrats now are as collectively stupid as the average citizen, and no doubt will continue Bush's insane surveillance. But remember, they've been watching the same, New Improved and Balanced News that everyone else in the country has been imbibing. As far as they knew, terrorists were crapping in our iced tea and killing puppies. Also, bucking the news-and-President terrorized population was a sure ticket out of office. Things are changing now.

@RorrimWhile onion hacking is possible, it's really only practical if you're attacking someone with no system security. For example, if someone managed to hack me, congratulations, I'm 192.168.0.24. I understand that the onion is not the end-all solution for privacy, but it's a pretty good one, and the alternative is in the content of this article.
