jerryfeil.com — "If you purchase something from TigerDirect and try to get the rebate from OnRebate.com, Good Luck!"It seems that many people are being denied rebates for items purchased at TigerDirect. TigerDirect points the fault at OnRebate.com and washes their hands of it.But guess what? THEY'RE SISTER COMPANIES!

I've had a problem with Onrebate in the past. If you want your rebate here is what you have to do:1. Send in your rebate with all your correct info.2. Wait the max amount of time time for your rebate (6-8weeks)3. Call Onrebate write down whatever bulls**t story they give you4. Go to the Florida Attorney General Website5. File a complaint6. You will receive your rebate in about 2 weeksI think Tiger Direct needs to include these instructions in all their ToS

I just bought a FujiPlus 19" monitor with a $90 rebate and a $30 rebate. Got the $30 rebate in a few short weeks, but the $90 check I wrote off due to the long time it took to get here ~ 14-16 weeks; it arrived in March with a late January date and get this - it was hand written. Very odd, but I did get a decent 19" monitor for about $230 with shipping and tax.

REALLY sad that you bury a comment pointing out that the VAST majority of peopel have had NO problems with TigerDirect, and that lots of people have unresolved problems with Apple.Seriously...take a step back and realize how sad that is losers. "Oh my god! He is giving FACTS, and saying that Apple is perfect! LEt's bury it!" SO sad.

When I tried to fill out one of their rebate forms, it magically wouldn't submit in Internet Explorer or Firefox. OnRebate seems like a huge scam.

f**k Tiger Direct and it's half-assed rebates.DUGG!Everyone should digg this

An employee of OnRebate.com frequents these posted complaints and offers her e-mail address to contact her and solve the problem. Her name is Nadina, nadina.urdaneta@onrebate.com. I found her responding to posts on RippOffReport.com, so I e-mailed her to complain about my rebate problem. She instructed me on how to resolve the issues and my rebate was then accepted. Contact Nadina!

Check out this profile. As of 4/13/06 this person had dugg only two stories including this one and only commented on this story.Hmm.

jimphelps, What's your point? I just joined this week. Do you not want new people to join? Give me a little time to reach 199 diggs. Sounds like your saying I'm an OnRebate mole... I hate OnRebate, they tried screwing me over. I found that woman's e-mail address and eventually had my rebate accepted. (No check yet). Just thought I could help some people by giving out her e-mail address.

Jim Phelps -- you're a nerd whose obsession with TigerDirect seems to be your only reason for existence.

agreed.. just because i didn't create my account until a little while ago, as well as don't leave many comments doesn't mean anything. Ive been coming to digg for quite some time, and just have not bothered to create an account until recently... i have been doing business with tigerdirect for several years, and they by far out due newegg for me. just because your life revolves around digg doesn't mean you can talk crap because 1. you don't like tigerdirect and 2. because i have less diggs/comments whatever than you do. company's screw up.. that's a fact of life.. and there are some out to get you. also remember that not all rebates are directed at tigerdirect, they just give you the information needed to get those rebates from another company. if onrebate scams you, then go bother them, not the company that listed the product with the rebate. if they have a mislisting it happens. nobody is 100% accurate at typing. if you are nice to them things get done, if you call up with an attitude bitching then nothing will get done.

Here at Onrebate.com in order to process a rebate we require the rebate form, invoice, and upc barcode. The rebate form information has to match the invoice in order to qualify for the rebate. In order to assist please email our customer advocate nadina.urdaneta@onrebate.com. Upon receiving your email we will investigate your case in efforts to find a resolution about your rebate claim.

Well is "wholly-owned subsidiaries" of the same company technical enough for you?Posted on the net are copies of corporate tax forms for both companies filed with the state of Florida with the same exact principal street address, and much more extensive documentation of their highly significant "sister company" relationship. Google it and you'll get all you need to be convinced, including a quote from a TigerDirect executive claiming that they aren't trying to hide the relationship between the two companies.Unless they are ping=ponging a customer back and forth between the two trying to get out of paying a TigerDirect rebate. It is interesting how people like you always ASSUME people don't know what they're talking about and are just whiners. Why don't you check the facts YOURSELF before you post ?
mrsneakersJul 6, 2006
This is typical - call 'em on not making good, they apologize and say they will get it out - then DON'T.
mrsneakersJul 6, 2006
They've promised to credit my credit card twice - then didn't. It's amazing how many people just can't believe that corporations that do some legit business also scam people.SURPRISE!!

HI TwisteR,Interesting. They pulled the exact same s**t on me. After 3 emails to OnRebate, I called TigerDirect (this was before I found out they were part of the same company), and complained I sent in the bar code off the package they sent me, so why does OnRebate say it is it the wrong barcode? They said they were so sorry, would credit the rebate back to my credit card, no hassle. The statement comes - no credit. I call again. So sorry, they got it this time. Just got this months statement - no credit again. PATTERN HERE????These guys have an amazing repertoire of ways to mislead customers about what they will actually end up paying if they are STUPID enough to buy from these jokers. I've counted 14 different ways they wiggle out of paying rebates.Report them to the State Attorney General's office. You might get it then.

I am also waiting for rebates from OnRebate/Tiger Direct on the bare bone PC kit I purchased in July, all documents were submitted and approved for the rebate, I received one $10 rebate but still have $120 worth still owed. I am tired of my Emails being ignored, and have already submitted a complaint with the Florida Attorney Generals Office and will follow up with a complaint with the FTC, and have also FAXED Nadina at Cust Serv shown in the post above.

Hi! I wanted to add some of my negative and positive experience with OnRebate, and specifically Nadina. I too, like many on this page, had problems getting OnRebate to acknowledge that my rebates for a total of about $150 were valid. In fact, I gave up arguing with them and TigerDirect until I came across this site about 3 months ago. I took Upstater's advice and contacted Nadina. She responded, and then I resent all the details to her. In 1 day all my rebates were approved and I just got the checks this week. This is 10 months after the original submission.I advise you to contact Nadina (nadina.urdaneta@onrebate.com.), whose title is Customer Advocate. She is doing a great job to rehabilitate the reputation of OnRebate... at least with me!

Long story short, Tigerdirect and onrebate is a scam. I jumped through ALL their hoops and did EXACTLY what was required. I smelled this BS when they wanted me to cut the address off the printed form and paste it to my envelope or "it might not be processed".And what do they do when you jump through the hoops and do EXACTLY as they ask? They say you sent the wrong UPC barcode when you actually have a copy of the packaging and the original package minus the bottom left corner.Save yourself the frustration when they jerk you around and just go straight to the Florida Attorney General.

have 200 $ rebate, 4 months past, rebates status approved online, nothing sent, called 5 times, every 1-2 week, after each call they told me "wait for 5-7 days" nothing yet, the last calls (which automatic phone recognizes your number) I had to wait more than an hours to be put with an operator (i put it on speakerphone) , looks very very suspicious,(my other rebates with other companies was: send rebate documents, get check in a month or twothis one is getting really really strange, still waitingI wouldnt let them go free, 200 is a lot of money for megood luck to you too

Also having problems getting my $50 rebate. They've been giving me a runaround for more than a month with constant "you will get your money in 7-10 business days".The latest reason was that they are waiting for funds from "sponsor manufacturer". Their "sponsor manufacturer" is "XTA". :)

On January 5th I purchased a 2-gig flash drive (Ultra FlyDrive) for $39.99 (+ tax and shipping). There were supposed to be two rebates for this purchase... $15 and $25 making it essentially FREE. I submitted all the necessary paper work exactly as they requested (dated receipt, UPC bar code) and sent them in well within the required time frame.I just got off the phone with TigerDirect Rebate center (866-871-3617) today to check on a $25 rebate that still hadn't arrived after 2 months. I gave them all the information... they verified my name & address, saw my order, but didn't see any rebates due to me! I told them that I already received one of the rebates for $15 and they should at least see that item as being paid. They did not. They tell me there is no recourse for me to followup on!Buyer beware!! Don't use TigerDirect!!

I have been waiting for a $40 rebate from something I bought from Tiger Direct in April... the first two times they "OnRebate Support" said it was not processed, then they said it takes 8-10 weeks after being processed, now three months after that they are claiming they are having problems getting the rebate from the manufacturer... If I get nothing by October they will be hearing from lawyers...

I too got ripped off for my rebate form onrebate/tigerdirect. They say I never submitted my paperwork but I mailed it within a week of receipt. I contacted them and they said it is my fault. Boooo. No more tiger for me.
