tgdaily.com — Google Drive, or Gdrive as it is better known, has to be the most anticipated Google product so far. When it arrives, Gdrive will likely cause a major paradigm shift in how we use computers and bring Google one step closer to dethroning Windows on your desktop.

Hard drives are a pain. Even with a good catalog program you never know what's on which HDD and then having to connect it and blah blah blah. I'd love to have a real and spacious web drive. But my concern is: Is it really fast enough? I just imagine uploading a few gigabytes of data to store..........Zzzzz........Zzzzz........Zzzzz.........Zzzzz.....That can take a while.

I wont trust my data on the internet - I will continue to store it locally no matter what Google offer - what about bandwidth speed?

I am totally looking forward to this. Hopefully they'll just let us share the space with our gmail accounts. I believe there is no way in hell I could ever get 7 GB of e-mail messages! :)To those of you who say "but what if Google goes out of business? My files will be lost!": This should not be your only backup of your data. Always keep it in multiple locations and have several copies of it. To those that say "but I don't trust them with my data": TrueCrypt is your friend. I have backed up pictures online so that if someone came in here and stole all my stuff I would still have copies of them.

You guys are forgetting that even though most people have slow broadband connections, people liky myself leave our PCs on all the time. When it comes to backups, it doesn't have to be there in 5 minutes, it just has to get there eventually. The PC isn't doing much in the middle of the night, or while I'm busy during the day, so it may as well be doing backups automatically for me. It isn't very expensive to run one PC 24/7

America sucks. It has worse network infrastructure than many countries in Asia and most of Europe. We have a dedicated fiber optic line with E1 (2.4 Mbps/upstream/downstream guaranteed) in our office in India and we pay only $ 650/month including lease and bandwidth charges.Try getting the same in ur US office. The rate/price makes it unaffordable for 90%+ all businesses in US.

Is the title ironic? Seriously, I'm afraid some day i'll go to the bathroom and find that is google there))) no, i want to have my data, my files and myself on my own, not as a part of google. And not to depend on my internet provider (who's job is not perfect) or anyone when i want to access some files.
