@JesseJerichoMac antiviruses are geared towards preventing macs from spreading windows Viruses. They are mainly used when connected on a network with windows machines so that you dont forward the britneyspears.scr file which is harmless on your mac, but might bring down a windows machine.
Some people enforce the point that macs come with nice software out of the box. Let's hope that Apple keeps it market share and doesn't come into to the MS numbers, cause then there will be hell to pay for including software in the OS.Don't forget court-ordered WMP-free Windows and the newly Windows Messenger-free edition. Why is it that Apple doesn't get these obstacles in their way? I see no other reason than that they are not dominant in the overall PC market. Which is kind of weird since they cover 100% of Macs. Why aren't the courts "protecting" mac users?
Ya know you can uncheck the apple category in your preferences, right? You realize that means you will no longer be "subjected" to these "cult" stories?Or would that take out the fun of trolling and pissing and moaning?
My Profile -> Manage Topics -> Make sure "Apple" is unchecked under technology. Please try to avoid whining about things that you have complete control over.
You people realize that you're digging commercials, right? This is why I hate Apple. Their users completely baffle me."OMG!!! Look, a new way to sell us stuff! COOL!"
"I can't even count the number of times I've tripped over power cords. Oh wait, yes I can, 0 times. I'm glad Apple spent lots of time figuring out how to alleviate that problem."I tripped over the cable on my girlfriend's iBook at home while I was optimizing her hard drive. The machine was pulled clean off the bed, fell 2 1/2 feet to the floor, landed on its side, and absolutely wrecked the hard drive beyond repair (the arm scratched the crap out of the platter or something). She lost a lot of her data (irregular backup) because I tripped on the cord like an idiot.I'm glad you haven't tripped on or otherwise yanked yours, but it obviously can and does happen, and it can be a real PITA to deal with. The MagSafe is definitely a selling point I bring up when I recommend a laptop these days.
