I think if the cert company requires a constant stream of money HR departments are going to start seeing resumes with the phrase (passed A+ on date). A 150 dollar certification should never go away, however it should also be dated so we know when you last did a cert. Less than a year ago is great especially for those just starting out, more than 5 years ago would be good to know, but more than 10 might be a problem if that's your main qualification.
