Yeah.. he also said "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."Don't tell me I'm a pushover until you've been to jail. Whining about taking a f**king picture and having the police ASK you to not do it without taking your equipment is pathetic. As someone said previously, it's "blown out of proportion". I've had video camera's and SLR's pulled from my hands and curb stomped, or simply never seen again.. because I was "obstructing an officer of the law" or "Obstruction of Justice".I've been arrested a few times when I "didn't deserve it". But now that I look back at being young and loud mouthed, I realize that I could just walk away and talk to who I need to, to straighten out the problem. There are quite a few things worth fighting over, verbally and physically... but this isn't one. When you have all your photos and you're asked to leave, question it and move to the next opportunity... blog and write to people later. I wouldn't get pissed, pull hair and throw tampons over it though. So, f**k your "pushover" comment. I've been cuffed for s**t like this, and I deserved it after running my mouth. The police didn't cause a problem and asked politely until I tried to be a badass.. then it was over. I respect this guy for knowing when to back off... but for all the young and amatuer photographers that are starting off, I don't recommend spouting off for a casual photo shoot. Save it for filming a police beating.
Cutting edge your Not....Trying to create conflict when you should concentrate on photograpy....Cops checking on what you are doing nothing more, you didnt end up in Guantanamo did you?Your equipment wasnt confiscated and you didnt end up in a jail cell.Get over it!
When Larry Flynt went in front of the US Supreme Court to rail against infringement of his First Amendment rights, nobody cared or listened (except for Larry and maybe Jerry Falwell), ostensibly, because he was a pornographer and a "troublemaker", so who cared whether his rights were being violated or not. However, when he prevailed, he was protecting and reaffirming *everyone's* Constitutional rights, not just his. Funny how it works that way.

Don't resist the arrest. Hit them with the lawsuit.<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Los_Angeles_May_Day_m%C3%AAl%C3%A9e">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Los_Angeles_May_D ...</a>$13 million lawsuit and 17 disciplinary actions taken - they still got off easy.

"Trying to create conflict", as in trying to engage in a 100 percent legal act on public property?Of course, it could just be he's SOL, since he's in the Constitution-Free Zone"<a class="user" href="http://digg.com/politics/The_Constitution_Free_Zone_of_the_United_States_Map">http://digg.com/politics/The_Constitution_Free_Zon ...</a>
