flickr.com — "There are now countless locations in New York where you will be harrassed if you attempt to take a photograph. But rest assured that there are also plenty of photographers in the city who will quietly continue to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed freedom of expression - whatever the idiot security twerps say. yeah... they need to realize that they won't stop terrorism by stopping photography. terrorists WILL find other ways, so it's best to leave things free so the terrorists employ the currently easiest way [i.e. take photos] and you can promptly catch them if they're doing something really suspicious, like taking pictures of an opened-up alarm system, for instance. if you stop photography, the terrorists will then continue it in stealthier fashions and win because you won't notice them this time around.

This is a really good point. If we (the US) are so paranoid that we no longer have basic rights... The terrorists have won. Since what IS a terrorist, and what is their goal?

NAFTA will eliminate the Canada - Mexico option. Those two nations will be merged with USA into one happy fascist union... :'(

The reason why they don't want citizens filming in public is because THEY are the ones that are afraid to be filmed. For all we know it could be a retaliation for stunts like this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1cxo230FvU

That is a scary thought, but I think you are wrong, at least about Mexico. Mexicans largely ignore their government, pay the occasional bribe when they must and go on about their business. You may see a big headline and things might seem different along the major highways, but in most of Mexico little will change.
