engadget.com — What's better than a 5-inch Gundam? Why a 5-inch Gundam slathered in platinum with diamonds for eyes, of course. This $250,000 robot soldier is manufactured by Bandai and will be on display next month at Baselworld, in Basil Switzerland.

What a perfect waste of platinum. That should be melted down and sold. Donate the money to charity as a punishment to Bandai for doing something like this.

It's the RX-78 2, the first gundam ever. But platinum.

ridiculous. we are possibly going to war next week and some rich morons have nothing better to do than to waste it on making a $1/4mil. pointless statue? I wonder how many starving Africans and homeless children this could feed, clothe and/or cure? Another example that 4.5 billion years of evolution hasn't done much for society today; if anything, people have gotten more ignorant esp. with crap like celebrity life-style obsessions/E! channel, Hummers/materialistic luxury and overfeeding our fat asses at places like Claim Jumpers (what a waste of food). sorry, it had to be said. wake up people, please! <a class="user" href="http://www.gwafi.com/news.html">http://www.gwafi.com/news.html</a> <a class="user" href="http://www.gwafi.com/story.html">http://www.gwafi.com/story.html</a>
