Like we need another Stargate series. Please wrestle the rights to Firefly from Fox then I'll be excited.

Actually they don't plan to wrap-up SG-1, just the Ori story-arc. The first film deals with that, and the second one stands alone. Apparently they are going to keep SG-1 alive through direct-to-video movies.

I have to agree about the vampire thing. I think the wraith have been by far the most boring enemy, all they do is run around being over dramatic and hissing at people.Fortunately most of the Atlantis focus have avoided them and been fairly interesting. When the Wraith have played a part, its more often a ship, dart or the results of the wraith recently being around rather than an actual wraith being on screen so I guess the writers (or market research + viewers) might have realized they had made gay blue vampires and cut them out. Also you can tell when they beat the wraith, there just going to do something like turn them all human just to add to their sissification.

I really hope this new series is going to be going in a different direction or from a different angle. The same old formula of establishing a base then sending out the team on exploration starts to wear thin after over 10 years or so. They said they are going to take longer on this series, lets hope they can make it fresh and more original than Atlantis.Stargate SG-1 was a great series, though, towards the end it started to get lower in quality, this mainly started to happen after RDA left the cast. As for Atlantis, at the start I had high hopes for it, though it seemed very generic. Due to that I gave it up around mid season 2. Apparently it has got a lot better since then and is better than the newer SG-1 episodes. So I may revisit it some time.

It was quite the opposite. The show only got better as each season was added. The show was quite slow at first, picking up around season 3 and 4. It had alot of steam come season 6, and never looked back.

"I have to agree about the vampire thing. I think the wraith have been by far the most boring enemy, all they do is run around being over dramatic and hissing at people."Isn't that pretty much what the Goa'uld did? well ok they didn't hiss but they were a little over dramatic sometimes :)

I dont even think infinity should be considered a real stargate show... i mean it was made by mgm but none of the people who make sg-1 and atlantis were involved in it im glad it was cancelled

I think what they mean is that unlike atlantis and sg1 which both were a contiuation of a previous stargate plot line with chaercters included from previous parts of the franchise this one will just start with no backround information from somewhere else but it will still be sort of like the other shows (a team of explorers from earth goes through the stargate and then...)

I think it will be interesting...

Goauld were cool... and humanoid enough i think.... if you mean just like intergalactic human wars then... well... sounds boring
