guysmiley.ca — As usual, some of my favorite April Fool's Day Internet pranks have come from Thinkgeek.com. But there is one product that deserves to become a reality: The 8-bit Tie! Let's start an email campaign to see if we can convince Thinkgeek to actually produce it!

up yetnot upyet…yay…blogs suck. My provider is not ready for a Digg hit so please resort to the email at the end of this post.Anyhow, I had a discussion with my girlfriend. She is a professional seamstress.I will have these available in less than a week. What we have decided so far (we will have the following available for pre-order and an online photo of each one before you need to pay):MarioYoshiLinkBowserBlue 8-Bit (similar but not the same for legal reasons to the ThinkGeek version)RedBlack and GreyAny other suggestions? If you make a suggestion we will use we will give you 3 free ties of your choice. These will all be 100% silk ties (probably use seconds for the silk - that means it is waste silk product that is flaw free...just end up getting a bunch of pieces too small for the ties so we will have to pick through the waste - another seamstress/sewer will understand what that means. The quality is still pure, it's just large pieces that big companiesselll off because they are too small to make what they manufacture. I.e. they make twin sized silk sheets and they have a piece that is 30"x20" thus too small to make a sheet...we buy it and get 50 ties out of it.)She has not figured out price but I told her they need to come in under $25. She said no-problem. These will have the UniForme name on them on a label on the back (her company). She will be making them pretty much for cost as a way to get her business name out there. We would ask that if you get a tie and like it that you spread the name around for custom clothing.Feel free to contact me with ideas/suggestions/if you would buy one at chris at minnecrapolis.com

Too many jaggies for me. I prefer my ties to have anti-aliasing.

This seems more like a good marketing stunt for a new product than it does an april fools joke.

They're a great idea, really. Is it safe to inhale caffeine though? IANAD :)

Well, the Thinkgeek guys begged us to stop emailing. They promised to make us the ties. What more is there to do, really, but thank every single one of you! We made such a damn nuisance, we wound up getting what we want. I like this idea, and think we should try it more often... http://digg.com/gadgets/Who_says_geeks_don_t_rule_All_you_digg_readers_made_8_bit_ties_a_reality/

I would definitely wear that. I don't care where I was ... that would never leave my neck. Ever.

The author has mentioned very much a vital topic today. It seems to me that the problematics of this clause enables to reflect and draw conclusions. You can as to look sites in Russian which mention this theme: http://www.rolid.org http://www.se-ua.com
