To be a REcap, wouldn't have to have already occured?Assuming, of course, that Nick De Plume didn't just hop out of a Delorian.

With all do respect, I hardly see either of these as even touching the iPod, much less being bleeding edge. Sure they've got a touch screen or little apps that seem like a PDA, but if you've been reading digg for the past 6 months: 1) the ultra-portable laptop is replacing the PDA 2) Personal media devices such as the zune and iRiver don't meet the same market at all. They can't. The only way that anything other than an iPod is selling these days is because people with tiny music libraries get ansy in the pants when they see a radio function on the unit. They don't stop and think, wait, if I'm going to be listening to this mp3 player, why would I need a radio function? Why would I need to open Word documents? 3) We've gotta stop looking at all of these features and realize "It's all about the music"... It's about having a simple UI that gets me to all my songs quickly. Once you're done with that, you start thinking about anything else. So, let's compare, supposedly bleeding edge mp3 player/everything we don't care about with nice little submenu's to figure out and 4-8 GB of storage at the same size as an iPod (if not larger) or simple, easy, straitforward UI that takes you to music first and holds 30-80 GB.Now, having said all this, I don't want to sound like a fanboy (which I probably am) just attacking an anti iPod comment. I just think there might be something in the works here, something big. And even if you don't own an iPod or a mac, perhaps you should let those who do enjoy them and feel excited when their next love comes along. (take that last bit however you want) In all honesty, I think it's conceivable given some of the signs (5 times the shipping, "last 30 years was only the beginning", etc.) that what we're going to see is something like the iPod. Not a digital music player, but the next big product that could change the way the company does business. If you actually look, a lot of the signs are there. This is very similar to how Apple acted shortly before the release of the iPod... it's conceivable. Or, maybe it's just an operating system status update and nothing else. Either way, I'm excited.hmm... I guess this should have been in response to firemillen2's post... o well... first to digg him down! (should I be proud of that?)/endrant

Apple better deliver. Last year a lot of people were dissapointed because it was so hyped up, that was the users fault. But now, Apple is also doing the hyping.
