As long as my mac works I can't complain, and will continue to hope that apple leads the PC industry in creating new standards; and hope that they will not stagnate like other PC companies such as dell. (However Dell does make some pretty pimp monitors, sony did the PS2 and PS1 well, we shall see how PS3 turns out, Lenevo makes the only true PC laptop I would ever buy, and Gateway well you get what u pay for)
If they expect people to buy a slightly upgraded 5G iPod, knowing that there is a "true video iPod" coming out just a few months later, they'll have to either A) Lower the price now, or B) Charge more for the video iPod than the current generation.Personally, I think iPods are already at the maximum price I'm willing to pay for an mp3 player. I'd prefer if they lowered the price of the current bump, then brought it back up to the regular price for the next big upgrade. I would buy one right on September 12th if they did this.Unless the video iPod will be marketed as a fourth, totally new kind of iPod. Then all bets are off.
All of the hundreds/thousands of linux distros are 100% Open Source components. Yes they're both computers held together by screws, you got me there, but in no way am I comparing them to windows. If I said that I hate windows would that make me less of a zealot? And are you're saying if I tried hard enough I could source cheap components from numerous companies, build a pc and put the mac os on it? Why would I do that when their good free alternativesI like allot of what Apple seem to be doing now. They're becoming more competitive with pricing and the boot camp stuff is interesting. So simply jealously may very well have something to do with it too, if I had money to burn I'd probably buy one too... and a dell... and bigger house.

Definitely agree. When I'm cruising South Beach in my Bentley I want to be the only one with an iPod nano.

incidentally - that's the first time I've seen a dislike of hardware equated to racism.
