mensjournal.com — Some interesting facts about the human body. Some you may know, others probably not, but there's plenty of really good tips here. For example: "Starting 48 hours before your next long flight, take a baby aspirin each day. It'll thin your blood just enough to prevent clots from forming in your legs" A good read...

@rasterbator: You really won't be s**tting that much more often, but the fiber does wonders for blowing cholesterol out of your colon. That's why old people and people with high cholesterol are encouraged to eat more fiber. Also, even if you do drop more bombs than usual at first, eventually your body will adjust and you'll be back on schedule.

"About water: "Guzzle -- don't sip -- water: Downing big gulps cues your body to get it into the system faster." This is bull***t."Well, why? I tend to agree with an article over a random guy calling "bulls**t."In this case, I disagree because of facts I've read. What I remember is that eating fast increases metabolism (the size and rapidity of swallowing). This I read in a psychology book. David Myers, /Psychology./ Now, perhaps a psychology book isn't the best place to learn this sort of thing, but this book was riddled with source citations, and it too I believe.

Peroxide itself doesn't stink, it's the reaction products that stink. Peroxide releases a large amount of oxygen, which reacts with nearby cell walls. What you smell is bacteria (and your flesh) burning. It will kill more bacteria than soap and water, but it will also kill some of your own cells. Normally peroxide will be good, because you can easily afford to lose a few cells: an infection will cause you to lose far more.

Whether you should perform cardio in a fasted state is a controversial topic; the decision to perform this type of cardio varies by individual (body type, sex, age) and his/her goals. For pure weight loss, morning cardio will be effective. However, this weight loss will likely include greater amounts of muscle loss. For many individuals, this is an acceptable loss.I would point out that the notion that glycogen stores are depleted in the morning and therefore morning cardio more effectively targets body fat is erroneous. There may be good reasons to do morning cardio but this is not a valid justification. As one who is interested in maintaining muscle, I myself personally avoid doing cardio in a fasted state. High intensity interval workouts are the most efficient way of burning fat. To perform at the level required for these workouts, you need the proper fuel; exercising at a high intensity is impossible in a fasted state. Performing high intensity workouts will raise your metabolism and allow you to burn energy when not exercising. This is a far more effecient way of burning fat. Compare the sprinter's physique with that of a marathon runner. For an interesting perspective on the various viewpoints, I would endorse http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=835725
