I think the assumption is that anyone crazy enough to drop (waste?) $700 on this thing will also be willing to spend a little money on extra long cables and invest the time to route them through this giant metallic maze.

Because if you look at that case and what's probably involved with routing cables through it, each light probably takes a full day to hook up.
