I posted a response on C|Net's own page, though for some reason my name is now "Goose"...."So in response to Google not talking to you, C|Net is apparently slamming anything Google does. Google is offering free internet to an entire city, and C|Net wants to complain that it'll only be 300kps. What ever happened to that golden rule of, "you can't complain about it if it's free"? I'm beginning to find C|Net's attitude to be less and less objective. Cnet.com used to be my start page, but now I use a personalized Google page. I only found this story because it was posted to Digg. Congratulations, C|Net, you've managed to lose a long-time viewer. When you're ready to skip the politics, let me know."It's true, every morning I'd peruse C|Net, but I don't any more because they obviously have their own agenda and don't care about being impartial.
i see no catch, just a pathetic story by Cnet that shows some serious bias against Google. Good job Cnet, your becoming the Fox News of tech news. Its Free people....
well i dont know much about it, but they do raise a valid question. Is it really free? You are still getting basted with ADS most probably (im in NYC, and i dont get free access yet)... but rememeber the Nasty days of NETZero .. lol, i guess its not longer net-0 .. u have to pay now. And privacy is a big issue. I have verizon DSL, and I know that their take on privacy might be just as bad as GOOGLE, but if you read the lastest issue of 2600, and their GOOGLE hacks, he explains quite well where thep problem with GOOGLE's machines reading your mail comes into play. Ill put the link, so you guys can check it out. CheersCypherkin
lol my neighbours steal my wifi get less than that but they dont complain.. why?? cause it is FREE foo..you give someone a cell phone that you have to hand crank everytime you use, has crappy reception and can only call instate and have to listen to an ad before you call.. would be everywhere if it was free
Who are you people to say its only for people that cant get high speed access in their area?! Its FREE friggin' 300kbps, just god damn... Google is doing so much for everyone, why are you people making the worst outta everything? I mean, look how much money they have, and they deside to give out free internet access with it, I think we need to stop looking at the down sides of it, and just be happy about it. They are spending their money on "the people" not themselves
