I'm surprised no one here panned the Marc Andressen entry. He was certainly no demon coder, some people accuse him for stealing the credit for Mosaic, and he had no real impact at Netscape. Jim Barksdale created that company, and used Andressen as a prop. Look at what MA has done since leaving Netscape: squat.
Where is Charles Babbage? or John von Neumann? Or.. This is just a list of techno celebrities with no objective criteria for ranking contributions at all. And the aim? A snub to Bill Gates who doesn't even get an hon. mention, in favour of people I've never heard of. What a crock.

This list is lacking some historical BIG hitters. How about Blaise Pascal?<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaise_Pascal">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaise_Pascal</a>Charles Babbage?<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Babbage">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Babbage</a>Or perhaps the first female geek, Ada Byron, Countess of Lovelace?<a class="user" href="http://www.lc-ps.org/Departments/Technology/technologyArticles/Ada.htm">http://www.lc-ps.org/Departments/Technology/techno ...</a>

Richard Stallman should be higher. Not only is he a geek but his life's work has been devoted to allowing other geeks to do the geeky things they do.
