My mom cannot, for the life of her boil an egg. I had never done so before and let the water boil first, then put the egg into it, still boiling for about fifteen minutes, then turned the burner off and let it sit until it was cool enough for me to put my hand in and the egg is perfect. my mom told me i was doing it wrong. On easter, maybe a third of her eggs get boiled correctly. The others are all runny and gooey, so we cant eat them.

I read in Metro this morning the comments that the Lion Quality Egg spokesman made;"We said OK, this is a big issue - people can't boil an egg - what are we going to do about it?"Jesus H. Christ, why not print simple instructions on the egg box? Don't spend money on heat-reactive ink stickers for EVERY EGG when the British egg production industry is in jeopardy from cheap egg imports from the mediteranean! What goes on in these people's minds?

if you can't boil an egg, you don't belong in a kitchen.

As stated above. If you can't boil and egg then you shouldn't even be in a kitchen. Next they'll invent a soft-shelled egg that's microwaveable.
