Great good for you. Most perl programmers programmed in C/C++ earlier. My question to you however would be this: Do you consider yourself to be more productive in C#? When I say productive, I'm referring to your ability to deliver software to your end users in a timely manner with as few defects as possible.
WTF are you doing comparing languages based on some arbitrary matter as whether it is compiled or not? The real question you should ask is: Which language is best for the job and which one will allow me to deliver software faster while remaining maintainable and extensible?
So what does one do when a company wants to read from all types of DB's and also do socket communications to all types of OS's what language would you use....PERL? RUBY? D? Nope....C...C++...or JAVA......C# noway!
I haven't done all that much with Javascript beyond some manual AJAX experimentation, but closures are way cool. I've got a lot more respect for Javascript since I found those.

really, cause I was thinking Java belongs below HTML. C is a mans language, not phobic babies who can't keep track of memory.

Why the hell would a JavaScript programmer consider himself superior to a Java programmer?! Buried as lame.
