Yes, but good for who? The rich have gotten richer. Everyone else suffers with the downturns but don't get further ahead when the economy grows, even at record speeds.
The only problem for the global economy if the US hits a recession is from a massive consumer shortage. US consumers consume a lot of junk. What happens if the US can't consumer? China's economy collapses, anyone that exports to China's economy also collapses. See the dominos, yet? When we have a global economy, a massive collapse in the consumers or makers countries led to more collapse else where.
