community.livejournal.com — Artemiy Lebedev, the founder of Russia's biggest and oldest interactive firm, has just created a LiveJournal community as part of his expirement of developing new products while taking users' input and providing updates. Why in English? Because "only 100 Russians are interested in the keyboard, while in the rest of the world it's 100,000."

Need we review why this keyboard is a dumb idea?Once you get beyond the expense, there's the obvious: You learn to type and you learn keyboard shortcuts for SPEED. That means you're not looking at the keyboard, hunting and pecking. The usefulness of on-keyboard icons is temporary at best.Yeah, gamers are looking at their keyboards for the "launch missile" icon every time they want to fire...

@willynillyI think the usefulness of these keys goes far beyond just application use. For example take this scenerio - you are using a specific application and whilst doing so certain keys remain redundant - why not assign these to flash and/or show certain key data representing certain events such as watching a firewall log or notifying that a certain user has logged onto an instant messanger. The idea is that key functions may be floating and looking at your keyboard may not solely related to the keys of your current tasks but to highlight events and become keys to trigger certain other tasks. So whilst you may learn key layouts for many apps which is obviously useful - it may be useful to draw your attention to other keys. Or notify you how certain application keys are acting in a toggle mode - not all keys have the led's that caps, scroll and number lock have. Also I'm sure there are other uses that have yet to even be realised..
