Nope, this is the real deal. A few complaints though. In order to configure it with just a few upgrades (Faster processor, Applecare), you're almost into Mac Pro territory. LCD displays are getting cheaper all the time, so why buy a machine that is self limiting (only 1 SATA drive, 2 ram slots) when for just a little more you can get the beast that is known as the Mac Pro? Don't get me wrong, I like this machine. I just wish Apple would position their consumers machines with consumer prices.

is it just me or is any comment that isn't of a completely pro-mac nature being modded down?

This comment is for all of that are so outraged that your front page somehow contains Apple stories. Most prominantly Frankie4Fingers, whom I've already blocked about halfway down the thread, though I continued to read the grand testaments of his wisdom.Anyway... You guys are so silly, how could something so horrific happen to your digg.com home page? But guess what? The guys at digg have come up with a solution for you ever since Digg v3 launched. Check it out:Click on "Profile + History" on the top left > then "Profile + Settings" in the middle > and finally "Manage Topics"Now all you gotta do is uncheck the Apple category.*Gasp* no more Apple stories! Its obvious there are many Apple fans at Digg, and still you guys insist on trolling, some of you fully knowing you will look like a fool, its amazing.Go outside sometime, you might learn something.... (... or get ran over by a large semi)

The only new thing I've learned reading the comments here is that Frankie4Fingers has a lot of time to waste in his life writting hate-filled comments.

Thanks, I will do that from now on. I didn't know I could get rid of Apple advertisements.

"is it just me or is any comment that isn't of a completely pro-mac nature being modded down?"that's how it is with zealots--no middle ground, no probing questions ;)

"while the rest of 99% of the population that use PCs just goes to work and gets stuff done"No, they're just trying to make their PC work. Viruses, Spyware, Trojans 'n'stuff, you know...

You just don't get it, do you. They WANT to use OSX, and that is what they use for the vast majority of tings, but there are those times when you just have to run windows. Now, thanks to boot camp/parallels you can do that with virtually no performance hit without going to a different machine. Its a win-win situation. Only downfall is that it uses more hard drive space having two OS's.

Quieter fans? Are you kidding me? I haven't heard the fans in my Core Duo iMac since I bought it back in March.

I am using opera on linux and the default filter for comments (-4 diggs or higher) when i click "show comment" to expand a comment it's moving slow... even slower in firefox.. obviously because of all the comments on this topic.. but i'd figure i'd see if others are experiencing this as well?
