googleblog.blogspot.com — Today, the Google Groups team launched a new beta version, available to anyone at groups-beta.google.com. It may have been awhile since you thought of Groups as cool or sexy if you ever did but I couldn't have been more excited to work on the team responsible for making the current Google Groups better.

daaaaamn that's pretty cool, its kinda like basecamp or something they should keep pushing that idea I really really like the direction they're going with this.

Seems a nice tool and a nice upgrade but still too buggy. I tried to create some pages for a group that I manage and after two edits I got a message that all the new features were having problems so were turned off for a while :(I think I will wait a few weeks before I try to use it again.

Personally, I feel it's a very nice upgrade. Really like it after an hour's use!

Hey, I love my gmail account but uh - wtf does Google have against Folders? No folders in my gmail account - no folders in the google groups? Right now I'm leaning towards using meetup.com to manage my group. Sure, I have to pay - but look at the features and GUI for crying out loud - its slick. Yeah, I know - no folders there either - but there is a workaround.

I wish they'd release Trogdor as OSS. Google Pages rocks, but they obfuscated the s**t out of Trogdor.
