tuaw.com — Image Capture automatically launches when I attach my new iPod Touch to my Mac. The problem is, of course, that unlike the iPhone, the iPod Touch is not a camera. So why is it reporting itself as a camera to my computer?

Obligatory 'Will it Blend?' comment.

When I plug my Creative Zen V+ into my lappy it appears as a "USB Interface, Medium Type: Camera"... why doesn't anyone use MSC? It seems Microsoft and Apple are in a proprietary interface to consumer devices war. *sigh*

Image Capture thinks my PSP is a capture device, too. You mean my PSP isn't a camera????????????

LOL it does this because it can take photos. It can remotely connect to a PC using wifi to connect over the internet or even locally and use a webcam, i use mine as a security camera while im out to check on my room, and save images. It is also known that IF you press the menu button and the hold button once together, it takes a screenshot of whatever is on your ipod touch. All these can be stored in the images section of the iPod hard drive. I use mine all the time. iRealise whats going on :D
