Time to put this old dog to pasture , he brings nothing new or innovative to the table. Just the same old school bulls**t that got us all in this mess in the first place.
@Alexthehoopy,The dems were all about passing the same bill that has been repeatedly rejected for months. Here's something the dems might not be understanding. The Reps CANNOT pass anything that looks or smells like socialized medicine or government take over/control of medicine. They cannot do it. Sure, they can physically vote yes just as easily as they can physically throw themselves off a bridge. But their voters have sent them the message to say no to that.So the reps cannot say yes. That doesn't mean there isn't room for compromise or cooperation. But you can't ask the reps to sign anything that looks like socialism to their voters. There are things the reps and dems agree on. Why can't we just pass that stuff first and then argue about the rest later? Do that and the reps will be right with you offering a helping hand. But this radical stuff isn't going to fly. It isn't obstructionism to vote the way your voters have asked you to vote. A large part of America want this stopped. It is their RIGHT to vote no.The dems need to understand that they do not actually have the right to demand anything. The reps really have just as much right to vote their way as the dems have to vote their own. That is democracy.====================================================@Entroper,The facts were as they saw them. From the reps perspective I'm sure we could point out some places where the dems were wrong. Especially when it comes to matters of cost, funding, or sustainability. As to the reps campaigning, no less then the dems were. If you didn't see it then I don't know what to tell you. The next election is going to shift power in washington and if you think the dems aren't aware of that you're kidding yourself. In many ways the healthcare push is a campaign in and of itself. If the reps can stop what their voters see as socialism then they keep their jobs and elect more republicans. If the dems pass it then the election might go better for them... though according to polling information it looks pretty bad for the dems no matter what they do.As to what I believe, don't make the mistake of dismissing me without consideration by name dropping fox or something similar. If you get in the habit of that you'll stop thinking and instead just dismiss anyone that disagrees with you. Keep yourself honest. Always think.

Actually his selection of Palin pretty much ruined his "country first" angle.
