blog.montred.com— An excellent article explaining the process of designing a Logo, the exciting journey from initial sketches to the final logo. A must read in this competitive brand landscape.

Yet another good one from the comments:"Judging from the number of wannabe logo critics that took the time to post whining and pointless, unconstructive criticism I?d say you have a winner!"
Can we say free ad's for MontRed?A logo doesn't always have to be a physical centric design. It's just a logo... I'm sure you could find dozens similar to it.
My favorite is this one: "I am a designer with 15 years of experience (A straight male in case you were wondering)"Um, actually no, I wasn't wondering, but thanks.
Yes, the arrow WAS designed into the logo, but I don't think they meant it to be "viral". It is just too subtle to be viral in nature. Viral advertisements take hold of you the first time you see them and make you want to spread it. The arrow does not take hold of most people (it's far too subtle).
Why, oh why, would you use JPEG compression for a "line art" image? JPEG is horrible for things like that with constant color and extremely high contrast text and lines. JPEG was meant for continuous tone images, not for text and the like. PNG would have been a much better choice.

Not news. Not tech-related. And it's fishing for page hits for a f**king jewelry store. Lame.

bonchbonch, I have to agree, the sparkle concepts (2 in the middle, particularly) are my favorites.

Article title should be "The art of advertising for our jewelry business by showing our logo to Digg".

I agree, the logo sucks.
