gizmodo.com — Think about it. It has been less than a year, and the iPhone is in the minds of everyone, getting almost-sickening front page treatment in every newspaper, magazine, and blog all around the world. Even if it's not the best selling phone or the one with the most features, the impact has been so big that it has permeated popular culture and language

@Yoda,that is so retarded of reasoning...It cuts down on itunes purchases? You can import any music into itunes that the iphone could play which is DRM free, and sync it? So how the f**k does that matter if there is an SD card or not...and as for ringtones, if they had an SD card and still wanted to lock down ringtones they easily could make it so you couldnt play ringtones off the SD...your reasoning is idiotic...As for why apple doesnt have an SD port on it? Maybe lack of space in the hardware... maybe because it would have cost more, maybe they dont want to support it, maybe they think its an unnecessary feature, but come on... it represents a way of moving data to and from other devices?

You have some valid points, but a couple are pretty stupid:-Screen being glass is definitely a positive, the screen doesnt break when dropped, is hugely scratch resistent, and much better feeling... I mean come on when you break a screen on another phone it always f**ks up the LCD behind it so how is that any different, when I cracked my Q's screen it made the whole phone unrepairable...-Multitasking is really stupid on a phone the task manager on other phones is ridiculous, you have running apps that you dont know about, you are wasting battery life, you cant optimize apps to run on the phone because you dont know if you have full cpu or not, its like a game console... multitasking apps is STUPID on phones, what apple did with push notifications through a background server is SO much smarter for the phone interface when you are running on a battery, and trying to optomize applications... I mean come on man, besides notifying you of new things what the hell do you need a background task for?-it has bluetooth for headsets, you can sync apps, download music and more over wifi... what do you need blutooth for.. a keyboard?? come on man, its a phone..-raping developers? they are completely hosting it all, giving access to every phone in one interface, offering the push notifications through their server, all the dev tools, and they are doing it for free if you offer your app for free, I definitely wouldnt call this raping, show me one other service that does this for people at cheaper price.-forcing app signing on users/developers, it doesnt affect your development at all, it helps developers from piracy, and as for users, they dont want people unlocking their phone, its their right.as for the rest of your reasons:-file manager will probably be created as a third party app...-ringtones I agree is stupid-MMS I never use since it has full email support, and never used it on other phones either, but I guess if you use this a lot it is annoying... they might make a third party app to do it considering hacked iphone apps can do it.-battery door is annoying but the phone would definitely be bigger from it, it adds a lot of space, id rather have a smaller phone as I dont carry extra batteries, but others might not, so I agree with you-camera sucks, but im sure there will be video recording apps as there is with hacked ones-copy and paste... I am really wondering what kind of intuitive interface people have for copying and pasting stuff on the iphone, I have only missed copy and paste a few times when I want to copy a web link or something from a text, which normally is never a problem since it highlights it, its only if the highlighting screws up, if you can think of a smart gesture to copy and paste, please enlighten me because I havnt thought of one that would work well, and dont say they should get rid of the touch interface all together please because it is definitely better for a lot of other s**t.Personally I think a lot of your complaints can be done through hacking it, so I hope that with the app store and new features, also comes hacking to get the applications that people cant get through the store... but thats just me personally, ill survive without it because of the advantages it has in day to day use over other phones, and I love the price.

I would say the reason it is much better jailbroken(I love my jailbroken phone) is because of the 3rd party apps, with the app store you will be able to get most of these... so... it will be like a jailbroken phone out of the box more or less...

Because your recipient will instantly get it without any configuration just with a cell phone number and there are very established standards which are carrier-grade like delivery notification, expiration option, brand neutralism, screen neutralism. It is more like Fax. There is a reason Fax lives. Not like all MMS users are ignorant people who doesn't have mail access. It is just not that practical compared to MMS especially considering the spam hell and extreme paranoia associated with it.

I have 3 Macs at home and even my web hosting relies on XServe powered hosting providers but iPhone looks like a fascistic, closed and locked pyramid scheme to me.Not liking that backwards thing and imagining its real potential if Apple phone department weren't bunch fascists who try everything to stop competition IN DEVICE is a reason to get swear at?You have been reported.
